PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-2003-18 <br />RESOLUTION DENYING THE APPLICATION OF STEVEN AND LAURA SINER <br />FOR ADMINISTRATIVE DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL, AS FILED UNDER CASE <br />PADR-776 <br />WHEREAS, Steven and Laura Siner have applied for administrative design review approval to <br />construct an approximately 258-squaze-foot, single-story addition and an <br />approximately 1,338-square-foot, second-story addition to an existing single-family <br />residence located at 6599 Stanton Court; and <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is R-1-6,500 (Single-Family Residential, Minimum Lot Size <br />of 6,500 square feet) District; and <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of May 28, 2003, the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning this application; and <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the requirements of the <br />California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed addition is out of <br />character with the neighborhood and is not compatible architecturally with <br />adjacent buildings; does not appropriately relate to the building on site, especially <br />as to massing; and the azchitectural style is not considered of high quality due to <br />the failure to relate the design to the surroundings and to relate the building <br />components to each other and the building colors and materials. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section I. Denies the application of Steven and Laura Siner for administrative design review <br />approval to construct an approximately 258-square-foot, single-story addition and <br />an approximately 1,338-square-foot, second-story addition to an existing single- <br />family residence located at 6599 Stanton Court. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective 15 days afrer its passage and adoption unless <br />appealed prior to that time. <br />
