CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> April 17, 2018 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: ADOPT POLICIES FOR SUSTAINABLE WATER SUPPLIES <br /> SUMMARY <br /> To meet City Council's 2017/2018 Priorities Work Plan item to "Adopt Water <br /> Conveyance, Conservation and Diversification Portfolio Policy", staff developed draft <br /> "Policies for Sustainable Water Supplies" to establish a framework for conducting a <br /> high-level assessment of options to increase the long-term reliability of the City's safe <br /> water supply to its customers. These policies address attributes important to a reliable <br /> long-term water supply portfolio. The City's Committee on Energy and the Environment <br /> is recommending that Council adopt these policies to guide the development of a Long- <br /> Term Alternative Water Supply Study. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> The Committee on Energy and the Environment recommend that the City Council adopt <br /> the Policies for Sustainable Water Supplies. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Adoption of these policies will not result in any costs to the City. <br />
