THE CITY OF <br /> P320050.aw 8 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASANTON® <br /> February 20, 2018 <br /> Community Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PROPOSED KAISER PERMANENTE MURAL PROJECT TO <br /> BE PLACED AT 7601 STONERIDGE DRIVE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton was approached by Kaiser Permanente regarding partnering <br /> with the City to place a mural to help beautify a blighted area on their Medical Office <br /> Building in Pleasanton. The mural will be placed on their North Building. The total cost <br /> of the artist's commission will be shared between Kaiser Permanente, the City of <br /> Pleasanton, and Gary and Nancy Harrington. <br /> A call for art was sent out in December 2017 and 47 submittals were received. At its <br /> February 5, 2018 meeting, the Civic Arts Commission approved the proposed design <br /> and requested that their recommendation be forwarded to the City Council for their <br /> review and consideration. <br /> CIVIC ARTS COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the proposed design, to be placed at 7601 Stoneridge <br /> Drive. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the proposed design, to be placed at 7601 Stoneridge <br /> Drive. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The artist for this project will be compensated $10,000. Artist compensation will be <br /> funded through a partnership with Kaiser Permanente, Gary and Nancy Harrington and <br /> the City of Pleasanton. Both Kaiser Permanente and the Harringtons will fund $3,000 <br /> each and the Public Art Acquisition Fund # 50550110-440109 will fund $4,000. <br />
