THE CITY OF 1 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> lifil ll 010 lli <br /> pL£ASANTON® <br /> February 6, 2018 <br /> City Manager <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AMENDED AND <br /> RESTATED AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LIVERMORE AND <br /> THE CITY OF PLEASANTON FOR THE LIVERMORE- <br /> PLEASANTON FIRE DEPARTMENT JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Joint Powers Authority ("LPFD JPA") was <br /> formed as a separate entity in 1996 to provide fire protection services to Livermore and <br /> Pleasanton. While the LPFD has successfully addressed the original objectives, the <br /> agreement does not reflect current operations and limits the introduction of efficiencies <br /> that would better serve the partner cities. The Amended and Restated Agreement aims <br /> to better define the LPFD, its operations and enhance its ability to provide fire protection <br /> services. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> The LPFD JPA Board of Directors recommends the City Council adopt a resolution <br /> approving the attached Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Joint Powers Authority <br /> Amended and Restated Agreement between the City of Livermore and the City of <br /> Pleasanton ("Amended and Restated Agreement") with such comments, revisions, and <br /> direction as may be provided by the Council. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> No impact to City finances. <br />
