PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC -2009-16 <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPT THE <br />DRAFT PLEASANTON GENERAL PLAN 2005-2025 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton prepared a Draft Pleasanton General Plan 2005-2025 <br />("Project"); and <br />WHEREAS, on October 15, 2008, November 12, 2008, and May 13, 2009, the <br />Planning Commission held public hearings on the Project, took testimony <br />from members of the public, and considered the recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning the Project; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 15, 2008, November 12, 2008, and May 13, 2009, the <br />Planning Commission discussed the Draft Pleasanton General Plan <br />2005-2025; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 13, 2009, the Planning Commission considered the Final <br />Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Project, found it complete and <br />in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act, and <br />recommended its certification by the City Council; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Recommends that the City Council adopt the Draft Pleasanton General Plan <br />2005-2025, dated April 24, 2009, attached as Exhibit A, with the changes set <br />forth in Exhibit B. <br />Section 2. Further recommends that the City Council develop contingency plans that <br />include a formal mechanism for the gathering and receiving of public input, in <br />the event that major assumptions of the General Plan, such as the 29,000 -unit <br />housing cap, are invalidated or modified. <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br />adoption. <br />
