IN THE AMOUNT <br /> OF $987,200 FOR THE VALLEY AVENUE RECYCLED WATER MAIN <br /> EXTENSION, CIP 16148 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Plans and specifications were prepared for the Valley <br /> Avenue Recycled Water Main Project, which consists of installing 3,475 linear feet of 12" <br /> and 270 linear feet of 6" recycled water mains, and six recycled water services The <br /> project will extend recycled water service down Valley Avenue to the Arroyo Del Valle <br /> Bridge prior to the Valley Avenue pavement reconstruction project Bids have been <br /> received and staff is recommending award of the construction contract to the lowest <br /> responsible bidder, D&D Pipelines, Inc in the amount of$987,200 <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 Reject all bids received on September 23, 2016 <br /> 2 Approve plans and specifications dated October 3, 2016 for this project <br /> 3 Review the bids received on October 25, 2016, and award the construction contract <br /> for the project to D&D Pipelines, Inc of San Francisco, California, for a low bid <br /> amount of$987,200 <br /> 4 Authorize the City Manager to enter into the project contract <br /> 5 Authorize the Director of Engineering to approve and execute contract change <br /> order(s) for a contingency amount not-to-exceed $208,270 (21 1%) for unforeseen <br /> yet necessary related work and extension of recycled water main south of Arroyo <br /> Del Valle Bridge <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The anticipated expenditure for all agreements identified in this report, including the <br /> project contingency, is $1,300,000 There is $1,300,000 allocated in fiscal year 2016-17 <br /> Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget for this project <br />
