",;::: V <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> November 15, 2016 <br /> Community Development <br /> Traffic Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE LAUREL CREEK DRIVE TRAFFIC CALMING PLAN <br /> SUMMARY <br /> City staff has been working with residents from the Preserve neighborhood to develop <br /> solutions to address their traffic concerns along Laurel Creek Drive. The City and the <br /> Laurel Creek Drive residents have developed a traffic calming plan that includes <br /> prohibiting right turns from eastbound Dublin Canyon Road to southbound Laurel Creek <br /> Drive, and the installation of electronic radar feedback signs along Laurel Creek Drive. <br /> The residents have collected the required signatures to show that a strong majority <br /> (70%) of the residents support the traffic calming plan. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the Laurel Creek Drive Traffic Calming Plan. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The estimated cost to furnish and install two radar feedback signs is $20,000, and the <br /> estimated cost to install two "No Right Turn" signs and posts is $500. Funds are <br /> available in the City's Bi-annual Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (CIP No. <br /> 16555) to fund this project. <br /> The maintenance cost for the "No Right Turn" signs will be paid through the Street <br /> Division's Road Maintenance Program. The radar speed signs will require routine <br /> maintenance which is covered in the traffic signal maintenance contract. <br />
