16 <br />pLEAS,4NTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />July 19, 2016 <br />Community Development <br />TITLE: CONSIDER A CONCEPTUAL SCOPE OF WORK FOR THE DOWNTOWN <br />SPECIFIC PLAN UPDATE <br />SUMMARY <br />The Downtown Specific Plan (DSP) was adopted in 2002, and is intended to serve as a <br />guide for the future development and preservation of the Downtown area and address <br />issues such as land use, transportation, parking, historic preservation, design and <br />beautification, and economic vitality. City Council has identified updating the DSP as a <br />2015 -2016 priority and therefore staff has prepared a conceptual scope of work and a <br />Request for Proposals (RFP) to initiate the effort. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Provide feedback on the draft RFP, including the scope of work, and direct staff to initiate <br />the update to the DSP. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The cost of professional services is expected to be no more than $200,000. The <br />proposed budget would draw from the Community Development Professional Services <br />account. Planning review and administration will be conducted by staff and is part of the <br />Planning Division budget. <br />
