THE CITY Of <br />m 413 CI <br />pLEASANTON© <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />15 <br />July 19, 2016 <br />Economic Development <br />Community Development <br />TITLE: ACCEPT AN UPDATE OF THE DOWNTOWN PARKING STRATEGY <br />AND IMPLEMENTATION PLAN <br />SUMMARY <br />Staff has been working with Fehr & Peers to draft a Downtown Parking Strategy and <br />Implementation Plan (Parking Plan) to identify strategies to more effectively manage and <br />increase the parking supply in Downtown Pleasanton. The purpose of this report is to <br />provide City Council with the draft Parking Plan in advance of public outreach efforts. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Accept the draft update and provide staff with any additional direction related to <br />Downtown parking. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this update. Staff notes that short- and long- <br />term efforts to better manage Downtown parking and expand the parking supply may <br />have positive fiscal effects by increasing Downtown visitation and business activity. <br />
