MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> June 11, 2015 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Thorne called the special meeting to order at the hour of 3:30 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Mayor Thome <br /> Absent: Councilmember Pentin <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT: None <br /> PUBLIC HEARING AND OTHER MATTERS: <br /> 1. Approve the appropriation of$12.5 million from the retiree medical reserve fund and $1.7 <br /> million from the FY 2014/15 general fund year-end surplus for a total of 14.2 million to <br /> prefund the City's CaIPERS and Retiree Health (OPEB) liabilities <br /> Tina Olson, Director of Finance, presented the agenda report and gave an overview of the <br /> City's unfunded pension related liabilities and total annual savings the city would receive <br /> prefunding $17.7 million toward the PERS and OPED unfunded liabilities. <br /> MOTION: It was m/s by Narum/Thorne to approve the proposed appropriation of 12.5 million <br /> from the Retiree Medical Reserve Fund and $1,708,218 from the General Fund's FY 2014/15 <br /> estimated year-end surplus to pre-fund the City's pension-related liabilities.
