THE CITY OF I1 <br /> -- "' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT V( <br /> pL EASANTONo <br /> December 3, 2013 <br /> City Manager <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH i-GATE <br /> INNOVATION HUB FOR THE CITY OF PLEASANTON'S PARTICIPATION <br /> AS A MUNICIPAL PARTNER AT $25,000 FOR 2014 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton has supported the development of the i-GATE Innovation Hub <br /> since its inception in 2010, and the City is currently involved as a Municipal Partner — <br /> along with the Tri-Valley cities of Danville, Dublin, and Livermore — via Memorandum of <br /> Understanding for FY12-13. The attached MOU formalizes the City's involvement as a <br /> Municipal Partner at $25,000 for calendar year 2014 and outlines the reciprocal <br /> activities both organizations have agreed are of value to support innovative technology <br /> start-up companies in the Tri-Valley. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Authorize the City Manager to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding authorizing <br /> the City's participation as an i-GATE Municipal Partner for 2014. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The Memorandum of Understanding identifies the annual cost for the City's participation <br /> as a Municipal Partner at $25,000. This amount is not included in the City's FY13-14 <br /> budget and if approved by the Council will come from the General Fund Contingency. <br />
