ORDINANCE NO. 2083 5 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> REPEALING CHAPTERS OR SECTIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE: <br /> SECTION 20.04.010, CHAPTER 20.08, 20.10, 20.12, 20.16, 20.20, 20.24, <br /> 20.26, 20.55, 20.65; AND ADOPTING SECTION 20.04.010 (BUILDING <br /> ADMINISTRATIVE CODE), AND CHAPTERS 20.08 (BUILDING CODE), <br /> 20.10 (RESIDENTIAL CODE), 20.12 (PLUMBING CODE), 20.16 <br /> (MECHANICAL CODE), 20.20 (ELECTRICAL CODE), 20.24 (FIRE <br /> CODE), 20.26 CALIFORNIA GREEN BUILDING STANDARD), 20.55 <br /> SWIMMING POOL, SPA AND HOT TUB CODE AND 20.65 <br /> (INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE) OF THE <br /> PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE <br /> AND AMENDING THE 2012 EDITIONS OF THE INTERNATIONAL <br /> BUILDING, RESIDENTIAL, FIRE, AND PROPERTY MAINTENANCE <br /> CODES; THE 2012 EDITIONS OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING AND <br /> MECHANICAL CODES; THE 2011 EDITION OF THE NATIONAL <br /> ELECTRICAL CODE, AND ADOPTING FINDINGS REGARDING <br /> CONDITIONS SUPPORTING LOCAL AMENDMENTS! <br /> WHEREAS, the State of California has revised and updated the California <br /> Building Safety Codes (Title 24 California Code of Regulations) related to <br /> buildings and construction to be effective State-wide on January 1 , 2014; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton traditionally adopts the California Building <br /> Safety Codes by reference so that the City has the most current standards available <br /> under State law, with some local amendments related to our local geological, <br /> topographical and climatic conditions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City proposes, effective January 1, 2014, to repeal those <br /> California Building Safety Codes which will be superseded by the State's newest codes, <br /> and adopt the most current California Building Safety Codes, with local amendments <br /> supporting by specific findings about Pleasanton's local geological, topographical and <br /> climatic conditions. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. It repeals, adopts and amends the provisions of the Municipal Code <br /> regarding the California Building Safety Codes as set forth in the attached Exhibit 1. <br /> SECTION 2. It adopts the findings regarding local geological, topographical and <br /> climatic conditions as set forth in the attached Exhibit 2. <br />
