THE CITY OF <br /> F # "` "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 3 <br /> pL£ASANTONG <br /> October 15, 2013 <br /> Community Development Department <br /> Building & Safety Division <br /> TITLE: CONSIDER THE INTRODUCTION OF AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND <br /> TITLE 20 AND RELEVANT SECTIONS OF THE PLEASANTON <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE ADOPTION OF THE 2013 EDITION <br /> OF THE CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS TITLE 24, INCLUDING <br /> BY REFERENCE THE 2012 INTERNATIONAL BUILDING, FIRE, <br /> PROPERTY AND MAINTENANCE CODES; THE 2012 UNIFORM <br /> PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL CODES AND THE 2011 NATIONAL <br /> ELECTRICAL CODE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The ordinance proposed amends the Pleasanton Municipal Code to coincide with the <br /> State's adoption of the 2013 California Building Safety Codes more commonly known as <br /> the Building, Residential, Green, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Codes. <br /> These collective codes are also known as the California Building Code (CBC). Existing <br /> local amendments for Pleasanton related to our local geological, topographical and <br /> climatic conditions are included in the proposed amendments. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . Introduce the attached ordinance that updates Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> Chapters 20.04, 20.08, 20.10, 20.12, 20.16, 20.20, 20.24, 20.26, 20.55, and 20.65, <br /> concerning the adoption of the 2013 Edition of the California Building Standards <br /> Code (24 C.C.R.), including by reference the 2012 International Building, <br /> Residential, Fire Codes; the 2012 Uniform Codes for Plumbing and Mechanical; and <br /> the 2011 National Electrical Code. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The adoption of this ordinance should not result in a fiscal impact. <br />
