THE CITY OF <br /> 12 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTONo <br /> October 1, 2013 <br /> Community Development <br /> Planning Division <br /> TITLE: CONSIDER A WORK PLAN AND APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR <br /> PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR A HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> State Planning and Zoning law requires each city and county government to regularly <br /> update its General Plan Housing Element to address its share of the regional housing <br /> need (RHNA). The due date for Bay Area cities and counties to complete their Housing <br /> Elements for the 2015-2023 planning period is January 31, 2015. This agenda report <br /> provides a work-plan and schedule to complete the fifth revision of the General Plan <br /> Housing Element, and also requests an appropriation of $60,000 for professional <br /> services. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Receive information and provide feedback on work plan; appropriate $60,000 from the <br /> Lower Income Housing Fund (271900-4385) for professional services. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Staff costs for the Housing Element update were included in the Community <br /> Development Department's budget. This agenda report requests the appropriation of <br /> $60,000 for professional services to be funded from the Lower Income Housing Fund. <br />
