MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> May 21, 2013 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Thorne called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember Pentin lead <br /> the Pledge of Allegiance and provided introductory remarks. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Brown, Cook-Kallio, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Absent: One Vacancy <br /> SPECIAL ITEMS <br /> 1. Adopt a resolution declaring results of the Special All Mail Ballot Municipal election held May 7, <br /> 2013 <br /> City Manager Fialho reported that, as is consistent with law, the City held a Special All-Mail Ballot <br /> Election on May 7, 2013. Staff has received the certified results from the County Registrar of Voters, <br /> and is asking the Council to take action declaring the results and to seat Councilmember-elect Kathy <br /> Narum. <br /> MOTION: It was m/s by Thorne/Brown to waive full reading and adopt Resolution No. 13-615 <br /> declaring the results of the May 7, 2013 Special Municipal All-Mail Ballot Election. Motion passed by the <br /> following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Cook-Kallio, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: One Vacancy <br /> OATH OF OFFICE <br /> Federal District Court Judge Lawrence C)'Neill introduced Kathy Narum and administered the Oath of <br /> Office. <br /> Councilmember Narum extended her thanks to her family and all those who were so critical to her <br /> campaign. She thanked those residents who voted for her and promised to earn the support of those <br /> who did not by making herself accessible and embracing transparency in her decision-making. <br /> Mayor Thorne called a recess at 7:18 p.m. The meeting reconvened meeting at 7:29 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Brown, Cook-Kallio, Narum, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Absent: None <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Fialho reported that Agenda Items 7 and 8 would be continued to the June 4, 2013 meeting. <br />
