RESOLUTION NO. 13-608 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 08-234 TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE COMMITTEE ON ENERGY <br /> AND THE ENVIRONMENT UNTIL APRIL 30, 2015 <br /> WHEREAS, in July, 2008 the City Council established the Committee on Energy and the <br /> Environment for an initial term of two years to advise it on energy and environmental issues, <br /> strategies, planning and protections and opportunities for conservation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the duties of the Committee include supporting the intent of the City's <br /> General Plan environmental goals, developing measurable energy strategies related to <br /> preservation, prudent use of natural resources, and other energy and water related matters; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Committee has projects under way as part of the Climate Action Plan <br /> development and implementation that will run through the next 24 month period; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Committee's term is ending and an additional 24 months extension is <br /> required to address activities now in progress; and <br /> WHEREAS, prior to this date, the City Council may reassess the Committee's agenda <br /> and consider limiting or extending the term as appropriate. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The term of the Committee on Energy and the Environment is hereby <br /> extended for an additional two years until April 30, 2015. <br /> SECTION 2. The Committee on Energy and the Environment is directed to hold its <br /> regular meetings every other month during this term. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on April 16, 2013. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 16`" day of April <br /> 2013, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Cook-Kallio, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: One Vacancy <br /> Kare Diaz, City Cle -) <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> Jo an Lowell, City Attorney <br />
