THE CITY OF 13 <br /> t° CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON. <br /> April 16, 2013 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVAL TO EXTEND THE EXISTING AGREEMENT WITH ALAMEDA <br /> COUNTY TO PROVIDE SEWER AND WATER OPERATION AND <br /> MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR THE CASTLEWOOD SERVICE AREA FOR <br /> AN ADDITIONAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2013 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Alameda County Public Works Department (County) oversees and administers the <br /> Castlewood County Service Area's (CSA's) water and sewer systems. In February 2012, <br /> the County issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 900973 for proposals to operate <br /> and maintain the CSA for the fiscal year starting July 1 , 2012 and ending June 30, 2013. <br /> With resolution 12-508, City Council authorized city staff to submit a proposal for these <br /> services and the City's proposal was been selected. This report recommends approval of <br /> an additional year requested by the County to provide services to the CSA from July 1, <br /> 2013 to June 30, 2014. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the County of Alameda Standard Service Agreement Amendment for an <br /> additional year (Attachment 1) for operations and maintenance of the C:SA sewer and <br /> water systems for a period of one year beginning July 1, 2013. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The agreement anticipates payments to the City in an amount not to exceed $185,000 <br /> based on both a fixed monthly amount (of $8,372) and time and material costs as <br /> detailed on Exhibit B of the Agreement. Fees are set to assure that the operation is <br /> revenue positive to the City. The fee amounts represent a $25,000 annual increase in the <br /> fixed monthly fee based on the anticipated work necessary for the next fiscal year. <br />
