THE CITY OFIL 11 <br /> pL��S�4NTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> March 5, 2013 <br /> Community Development <br /> Traffic Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 11, CHAPTER 11.20, <br /> SECTION 11.20.010 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> CHANGING VARIOUS SPEED LIMITS ON CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> STREETS AS PART OF THE SPEED LIMIT REVIEW AND UPDATE OF <br /> ENGINEERING AND TRAFFIC SURVEYS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City's traffic engineering staff reviews and updates speed limits on a yearly basis to <br /> ensure that the posted limit provides the most orderly movement of traffic in a safe and <br /> efficient manner and that all posted limits conform to the requirements outlined in the <br /> California Vehicle Code. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt the ordinance changing the posted speed limits from the current posted speeds <br /> on the roadways listed in Table 1 of this report to the new speeds listed. Twenty-five <br /> segments along nineteen separate roads are included in this list of speed limit changes. <br /> Included in the twenty-five segments are seven segments that are not in the existing <br /> ordinance and require inclusion to meet the vehicle code requirements. There are no <br /> changes to the posted limits on these seven segments. Also included in the ordinance <br /> are several clarifying changes including segments that are unnecessary and will be <br /> removed from the Municipal Code. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no financial impact as a result of this recommendation. <br />
