MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> April 17, 2012 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember Sullivan <br /> lead the Pledge of Allegiance and he provided introductory remarks. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br /> Absent: None <br /> CLOSED SESSION REORT <br /> City Attorney Lowell reported that the Council met in Closed Session with labor negotiators for <br /> discussions with the International Association of Firefighters. No further reportable action was taken. <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Administrative Services <br /> 1. Approved regular meeting minutes March 20, 2012 <br /> City Council <br /> 2. Approved the following appointments: Karen Martens, Civic Arts; Nancy Allen, Olivia San Juan <br /> Henderson, Carine Knowles, and Gina Pepper, Economic Vitality; Steven Motsk, Energy and the <br /> Environment; Jamie Carollo, ACTIA Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory; Joseph Butler, Daniel <br /> Mermelstein, and Ann Welsh, Housing; Prashan Janwar, Human Services; Corey Cooper, Library <br /> Commission; and Jack Sefialo, Laurie Franklin, Michael Liamos, Naher Nikander, Jonathon <br /> Pearce, Katie Olmo, Taylor Sours, Erica Utica!, and Yandi Wu, Youth Commission <br /> City Manager <br /> 3. Accepted the Commissioner Absences Report for the period of July 1 through December 31, 2011 <br /> Community Development <br /> 4. Accepted actions of the Zoning Administrator and Planning Commission <br /> 5. Waived full reading and adopted Resolution No. 12-516 approving the Alameda County <br /> Transportation Expenditure Plan and supporting the Board of Supervisors place an extension and <br /> augmentation of the existing Transportation Sales Tax on the November 6, 2012 ballot <br /> **McGovern & Thorne voting no <br /> Councilmember McGovern said that while she supports the plan's projects, she could not support a <br /> permanent tax. She believed that the tax, in addition to what Alameda County consumers already pay, <br /> would significantly affect sales and business within the county. <br />
