RESOLUTION NO. 12-516 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, APPROVING <br /> THE 2012 ALAMEDA COUNTY TRANSPORTATION EXPENDITURE PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Commission has approved a new Alameda <br /> County Transportation Expenditure Plan pursuant to the authority of Public Utilities Code Section <br /> 180000 et seq., and <br /> WHEREAS, the Transportation Expenditure Plan development was guided by a Steering <br /> Committee comprised of 13 representatives from Alameda County Cities, the Board of Supervisors, <br /> AC Transit and BART; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Steering Committee was advised by a Community Advisory Working Group <br /> composed of 27 Alameda County community members and a Technical Advisory Working Group <br /> composed of staff members from Alameda County local jurisdictions, transit, health, enforcement and <br /> parks agencies; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Transportation Expenditure Plan was approved by the governing body of the <br /> Alameda County Transportation Commission on January 26, 2012; and <br /> WHEREAS, the new Transportation Expenditure Plan consists of programs and projects that <br /> are essential to improving the county's transit network and services, supporting the needs of seniors <br /> and disabled, providing critical multi-modal transportation solutions to expand travel choices and <br /> relieve congestion throughout the county, moving people and goods more efficiently, and reducing <br /> greenhouse gas emissions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the interests of the City of Pleasanton and its residents and businesses will <br /> benefit by the implementation of the new Transportation Expenditure Plan and the augmentation and <br /> extension of the existing half-cent sales tax for transportation in Alameda County. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The 2012 Alameda County Transportation Expenditure Plan is hereby <br /> approved. <br /> SECTION 2. This Council supports the Alameda County Board of Supervisors placing the <br /> 2012 Alameda County Transportation Expenditure Plan on the November 2012 ballot. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a <br /> regular meeting held on April 17, 2012. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 17th day of April, 2012 by <br /> the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, Sullivan, Mayor Hosterman <br /> Noes: Councilmembers McGovern, Thorne <br /> Absent: None <br /> it 2-7 <br /> Kare Diaz, City Clem <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> athan P.
