MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> July 19, 2011 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember <br /> McGovern led the Pledge of Allegiance and provided introductory remarks. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Cook-Kallio, Mayor Hosterman <br /> Absent: None <br /> REPORT OF CLOSED SESSION <br /> City Attorney Lowell stated the Council met with legal counsel regarding existing litigation in the <br /> case of Lin vs. City of Pleasanton, and with its labor negotiators with regard to negotiations with <br /> the Pleasanton Police Officers Association. In both instances, there was no reportable action <br /> taken. <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> City Manager Fialho stated Item 17 has been continued to August 16, 2011 at the request of the <br /> Valley Business Park Owners Association. He stated Item 3 on the Consent Calendar relates to <br /> submittal of an application for the State's Building Equity and Neighborhoods Program. The <br /> resolution specifies an exact location where grant funds can be used. This property may or may <br /> not be a property in consideration, and Mr. Fialho suggested striking the location of the property <br /> when acting on the resolution, and said the City's support of the grant application will remain. <br /> Councilmember Cook-Kallio referred to the staff report for Item 7 and clarified that the cost of <br /> $33,400 is being advanced by Legacy Partners and not the City of Pleasanton. <br /> Councilmember McGovern announced her abstention in the vote for approval of the June 7 and <br /> 21, 2011 meeting minutes. <br /> Councilmember Thorne requested revision to the minutes of June 21, 2011 and asked that <br /> "Colonel" Vanatter be amended to "Mr." Vanatter. <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Administrative Services <br /> 1. Approved regular meeting minutes of May 3, May 17, June 7, 2011, as noted; and June 21, <br /> 2011, as amended. <br /> 2. Adopted Resolution 11-466 to implement employee contribution towards CaIPERS pension <br /> plan for Pleasanton City Employees Association/AFSCME Local 955 <br /> City Manager <br /> 3. Authorization to submit an application, in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity, for the <br /> State's Building equity and Growth Neighborhoods (Begin) program <br />
