THE CITY OF 02 <br /> L <br /> - - "' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON® <br /> May 17, 2011 <br /> Administrative Services <br /> TITLE: ADOPT RESOLUTIONS AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO JOIN THE <br /> CALIFORNIA STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES — EXCESS <br /> INSURANCE AUTHORITY AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO CITY <br /> MANAGER TO ACT ON BEHALF OF CITY OF PLEASANTON IN <br /> MATTERS RELATING TO CALIFORNIA STATE ASSOCIATION OF <br /> COUNTIES — EXCESS INSURANCE AUTHORITY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton is seeking to join the California State Association of Counties — <br /> Excess Insurance Authority (CSAC-EIA) pool for the purpose of obtaining a dental <br /> benefits program at reduced administrative costs and lower premiums. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve resolutions authorizing the City to join CSAC-EIA and delegating authority to <br /> the City Manager to act on the City's behalf in matters relating to the CSAC-EIA. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> By joining CSAC-EIA, the City will experience a savings of $36,408 associated with the <br /> dental program for FY 2011-2012. <br />
