10 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> -- -- CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL E ASANTON. <br /> November 16, 2010 <br /> Operations Services Department <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BAY AREA RECYCLED WATER COALITION <br /> (BARWC) FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE EFFORTS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Bay Area Recycled Water Coalition (BARWC) is a group of public agencies <br /> committed to developing recycled water as a resource for the San Francisco Bay Area. <br /> The Coalition is committed to pursuing highly leveraged, locally managed projects that <br /> will help ensure the security of water supplies in the western United States for years to <br /> come. BARWC members are organized under a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). <br /> Any public agency in the nine - county San Francisco Bay area that is developing a <br /> recycled water project and has an interest in securing federal participation through Title <br /> XVI can become a participating agency upon approval of membership by a majority of <br /> the MOA parties and by execution of the MOA addendum. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the City of Pleasanton to participate in the Bay <br /> Area Recycled Water Coalition Federal Legislative Efforts. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Costs for participating in the Bay Area Recycled Water Coalition (BARWC) program will <br /> be incurred only when the City submits a project for BAWRC consideration. These <br /> costs are expected to be in the range of $8,500 - $10,000 per project, depending upon <br /> the number of projects submitted and the number of participating agencies. The City is <br /> submitting a project in 2011 and these fees are included in the 2010 -11 FY Water <br /> Enterprise budget. <br />
