IN THE AMOUNT OF $205,533 FOR THE ANNUAL <br /> WATER REPLACEMENT PROJECT — LONGVIEW DRIVE PUMP <br /> STATION, CIP NO. 091028 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Plans and specifications were prepared for the subject project. Bids have been <br /> received and staff is recommending award of the construction contract to the apparent <br /> lowest responsible bidder, TNT Industrial Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $205,533. <br /> The subject project consists of demolition of the existing pumps, motors, and <br /> appurtenances; removing and salvaging the hoist system; installing control valves, <br /> surge anticipator, yard piping, flow meter, meter vault, three new pumps and motors; <br /> providing roof openings including roof ventilations and associated truss work; painting <br /> the pipe system; and performing various other improvements at the Longview Pump <br /> Station located at 8999 Longview Drive, Pleasanton. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for the subject project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract to TNT Industrial <br /> Contractors, Inc. of Sacramento in the amount of $205,533. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above construction contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute <br /> contract change orders for a contingency amount not to exceed $20,550 (10% of <br /> the construction contract), if necessary, for unforeseen related subject project <br /> work. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> This project will improve water pumping capacity and efficiency of the pump station, <br /> thereby decreasing operational and maintenance costs. The amount of $348,181 is <br /> available in the Annual Water Replacement project, CIP No. 091028, to complete this <br /> project. Depending on rebate funding levels, the new, more efficient pumps may be <br /> eligible for an energy rebate. <br />
