CALL TO ORDER <br />REPORT OF CLOSED SESSION <br />Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember <br />Thorne led the Pledge of Allegiance and provided the introductory remarks. <br />ROLL CALL <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />September 21, 2010 <br />Present: Councilmembers Cook - Kallio, McGovern, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: Councilmember Sullivan <br />CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL — ANTICIPATED LITIGATION <br />Initiation of litigation pursuant to Government Code §Section 54956.9(c): One case <br />CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS pursuant to Government Code §54957.6: <br />Agency representatives: Nelson Fialho and Julie Yuan -Miu <br />Employee organizations: Pleasanton City Employees' Association <br />CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL — EXISTING LITIGATION pursuant to <br />Government Code §54956.9(a): <br />Lin v. City of Pleasanton, Alameda County Superior Court, State of California, Case No. RG- <br />10- 519153 <br />City Attorney Lowell reported that the City Council met in Closed Session and was scheduled to <br />discuss three items, one of which was the Lin v. City of Pleasanton case. Councilmember <br />Sullivan was not present and the matter not discussed. The City Council also discussed <br />anticipated litigation and the City Council voted 4 -0; m/s by Thorne /Cook - Kallio, to join other <br />Alameda County jurisdictions in filing a claim with the California Commission on State Mandates <br />for reimbursement of costs associated with complying with the Municipal Regional Permit <br />requirements for storm water runoff processing imposed by the Regional Water Quality Control <br />Board. Concerning labor negotiators, there is no reportable action. <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS - None <br />Mayor Hosterman announced that Councilmember McGovern had questions regarding recent <br />events regarding gas pipelines and City Manager Fialho noted that the Fire Chief is prepared <br />and would discuss the matter prior to taking a vote on the Consent Calendar. <br />Mr. Fialho introduced LPFD Fire Chief Jim Miguel and Deputy Fire Chief Joe Rodondi who <br />discussed what was learned about the San Bruno fire and reported on the pipeline infrastructure <br />within the city. <br />0 1 <br />
