No. 1961 Oak Grove To supplement the information previously provided in the report for the January 19, 2010 meeting, as well as in response to council member requests for documents at that meeting, attached please find the following: Elections Code and Government Code provisions referenced in the January 19th report Cover sheet of the petition circulated for the referendum of Ordinance No. 1961 (with names and signatures redacted as required by law) In addition, while the January 19th report included a table with the final deadlines for various election procedures, staff recommends the following deadlines for the June and November elections which are a few days earlier to allow time to transmit the information to the County Registrar of Voters: Action June 8, 2010 Nov. 2, 2010 Recommended deadline to order March 10 August 4 election and consolidate Recommended deadline for direct March 17 August 11 arguments Recommended deadline for rebuttal March 24 August 18 arguments Finally, at the February 16th meeting, if the Council chooses to submit the matter to the voters and decide the wording of the ballot question, the four options set forth in the January 19th report are attached in a more readable format for ease of editing. More recently, one of the referendum proponents submitted to the City another proposed ballot question, as follows: "Shall the development plan for the Oak Grove property in the City's Southeast Hills, be approved At the Feb. 16th meeting, staff will be able to assist the Council with real -time modification of ballot language options on the projection screen.
