2 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1993 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING SECTIONS 6.24.020 <br /> AND 6.24.040 OF PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADDING SECTION <br /> 6.24.045 TO THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING MASSAGE <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Sections 6.24.020 and 6.24.040 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code shall <br /> be amended to read as follows: <br /> CHAPTER 6.24, MASSAGE <br /> 6.24.020 Definitions. <br /> For the purpose of this Chapter, the following words and phrases are defined as follows: <br /> A L. (no change) <br /> M. "School of Massage" means an "Approved School" or "Approved Massage <br /> School" as defined in section 4600(a) of the Business and Professions Code. <br /> N 0. (no change) <br /> 6.24.040 Permit Exemptions. <br /> A. The permit requirements of this Chapter shall not apply to the following persons <br /> while engaged in the performance of their duties: <br /> 1 6, (no change) <br /> 7. Massage establishments or businesses, as defined in section 4612(b)(1) of <br /> the Business and Professions Code, except as provided in section 6.24.045. <br /> 8. Massage practitioners, as defined in 4600(c) of the Business and Professions <br /> Code, except as provided in section 6.24.045. <br /> 9. Massage therapists, as defined in section 4600(d) of the Business and <br /> Professions Code, except as provided in section 6.24.045. <br /> B. Special Events. (no change) <br /> C. Student Clinic.
