MCCULLOUGH COMPANY IN <br /> THE AMOUNT OF $358,675 FOR PRESSURE REDUCING STATIONS <br /> KILKARE ROAD AND PLEASANTON RIDGE, CIP NO. 031015 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Bids have been received for the subject project and staff is recommending award of the <br /> construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, William G. McCullough <br /> Company, in the amount of $358,675. The project consists of replacing three pressure <br /> reducing stations and fourteen main line valves on Kilkare Road and one pressure <br /> reducing station and one fire hydrant assembly on Pleasanton Ridge. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the contract for the project to William G. <br /> McCullough Company, of Antioch, California, for a low bid amount of $358,675. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the project contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute any <br /> required contract change orders to address unanticipated project conditions for a <br /> not -to- exceed amount of $53,801 (approximately 15% of the contract). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> This project will replace and upgrade existing infrastructure and should not increase <br /> maintenance costs. Expenditures -to -date have been paid from the water replacement <br /> fund allocation to CIP No. 031015, Pressure Reducing Stations Kilkare Road and <br /> Pleasanton Ridge. The funding for future expenses of this project will use the majority <br /> of the balance remaining from the Pleasanton Township County Water District #3 <br /> (P.T.C.W.D. #3). Approximately $100,000 will be left in the P.T.C.W.D. #3 account to <br /> continue on -going maintenance activities on Santos Ranch Road. Remaining water <br /> replacement funds will be transferred back to the fund balance. A summary of funding <br /> sources and estimated expenditures is presented in Attachment 3. <br />
