PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. PC-99-03 RESOLUTION RECOMMENDiNG APPROVAL OF THE NEGATIVE DECLARATION PREPARED FOR THE APPLICATION OF RED BEAR, INC., AS FILED UNDER CASE Z-98-296/SPA-98-03 WHEREAS, Red Bear, Inc., has applied for (1) design review approval to construct a 39-room hotel at 807 Main Street, and (2) a Downtown Specific Plan Amendment to permit the construction of a three-story building where two stories is the limit; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has received and reviewed the Initial Study dated October 9, 1998, and received the recommendations of staff; and WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 27, 1999, the Planning Commission received a proposed negative declaration prepared for the proposed project; and WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time the public was given the opportunity to comment on the enviromnental impacts of the proposal; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the potential impacts in accordance with the applicable state and local guidelines governing the preparation of Negative Declarations and Environmental Impact Reports; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the proposed project would not have a significant environmental impact; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission further finds that the proposed project will have no potential for adverse impacts on the site's wildlife. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: Section 1. Recommends approval of the Negative Declaration prepared for the application of Red Bear, Inc., for (1) design review approval to construct a 39-room hotel at 807 Main Street, and (2) a Downtown Specific Plan Amendment to permit the construction of a three-story building where two stories is the limit. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
