PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION NO. PC-2000-04

RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE VALLEY AVENUE EXTENSION CONNECTION
AT JUNIPERO DRIVE IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE GENERAL PLAN

WHEREAS,

Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation has applied for Planned Unit
Development (PUD) approval for a master plan and design guidelines that would
allow for the development of up to 1.1 million square feet of office/research and
development buildings to be located on an approximately 80-acre parcel located at
6177 Sunol Boulevard; and

WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD-I (Planned Unit Development-Industrial) District;
and

at its duly noticed public hearing of January 12, 2000 the Planning Commission,
after considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of
the City staff concerning this application, approved the Negative Declaration
prepared for this project; and

Program 1.8 of the General Plan Circulation Element indicates that the land use
designation for the Kaiser site should be re-studied for possible amendment when
Valley Avenue is extended through the site since the road would create an
undeveloped parcel on the north end of the site; and

WHEREAS,

the Planning Commission determined that the extension of Valley Avenue
through the Kaiser property is not appropriate and that the Valley Avenue
extension connection at Junipero Drive rather than at Sycamore Road complies
with the General Plan circulation goal to provide a connection to Sunol
Boulevard.
