PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. PC-2000-04 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE VALLEY AVENUE EXTENSION CONNECTION <br />AT JUNIPERO DRIVE IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE GENERAL PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation has applied for Planned Unit <br />Development (PUD) approval for a master plan and design guidelines that would <br />allow for the development of up to 1.1 million square feet of office/research and <br />development buildings to be located on an approximately 80-acre parcel located at <br />6177 Sunol Boulevard; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD-I (Planned Unit Development-Industrial) District; <br /> and <br /> <br />at its duly noticed public hearing of January 12, 2000 the Planning Commission, <br />after considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of <br />the City staff concerning this application, approved the Negative Declaration <br />prepared for this project; and <br /> <br />Program 1.8 of the General Plan Circulation Element indicates that the land use <br />designation for the Kaiser site should be re-studied for possible amendment when <br />Valley Avenue is extended through the site since the road would create an <br />undeveloped parcel on the north end of the site; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission determined that the extension of Valley Avenue <br />through the Kaiser property is not appropriate and that the Valley Avenue <br />extension connection at Junipero Drive rather than at Sycamore Road complies <br />with the General Plan circulation goal to provide a connection to Sunol <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br /> <br />
