CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 72-21 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF PLACING AN INITIATIVE PROPOSAL ON THE BALLO~ <br />AT THE REGULAR ~UNICIPAL ELECTION ON APRIL 11, 1972 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk has certified as qualified an initiative <br /> <br />petition proposing an ordinance regulating the granting <br /> <br />of building permits; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, based upon an opinion of the City Attorney, it appears <br /> desirable and in the public interest to place the questi°n <br /> <br />of the adoption of said ordinance on the ballot at the <br /> <br />regular municipal election to be held April 11, 1972; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. That an initiative proposal be put on the ballot at the <br /> <br />regular municipal election on April 11, 1972 in the <br /> <br />following form: <br /> <br />"Shall the petitioned for initiative ordinance set <br />forth below be adopted: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON: <br /> <br />A. The People of the City of Pleasanton hereby <br /> find and declare that it is in the best inter- <br /> est of the City in order to protect the health,I <br /> safety, and general welfare of the citizens of! <br /> the City, to control residential building <br /> permits in the said City. Residential building! <br /> permits include single-family residential, <br /> multiple residential, and trailer court build- <br /> ing permits within the meaning of the City Codel <br /> of Pleasanton and the General Plan of Pleasan- <br /> ton. Additionally, it is the purpose of this <br /> initiative measure to contribute to the solu- <br /> tion of air pollution in the City of Pleasanton <br /> <br />B. The specific reasons for the proposed Petition <br /> are that the undersigned believe that the <br /> resulting impact from issuing residential <br /> building permits at the current rate results <br /> in the following problems mentioned below. <br /> Therefore, no further residential building <br /> permits are to be issued by the said city until <br /> satisfactory solutions as determined below in <br /> the standards set forth exist to all the <br /> following problems: <br /> <br /> 1. EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES - no double sessions <br /> in the schools nor overcrowded classrooms as <br /> <br /> <br />
