CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAPEDA <br />STATE Om CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-12 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTIiORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT <br /> WITH THE COU~]TY OF ALAMEDA TO PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION <br /> SERVICES FOR AN AREA LOCATED O~I STANLEY BOULEVARD AND <br /> CERTAIN OTHER UNINCORPOP~TED AREAS LOCATED NEAR THE <br /> CITY O? PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has contracted in the past with <br /> the County of Alameda in order to provide fire protection <br /> services to residents in unincorporated areas located <br /> near the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, prior to July 1, 1974, the City of Pleasanton advised <br /> Alameda County that i~ would be necessary to increase the <br /> rates at which the services were provided by the City of <br /> <br /> Pleasanton Fire Department under the agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Alameda under the provisions of Proposition <br /> 9 hold an election in the Stanley Boulevard area in order <br /> to increase the tax rate to meet the increased needs of <br /> the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the residents of said area initially rejected this tax <br /> increase and, as a result, lost the protection of the <br /> City of Pleasanton Fire Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a subsequent tax increase for this area was massed by <br /> <br /> the voters on ~he November ballot; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the appropriate agreement for fire protection services <br /> <br /> has now been prepared; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, T!IE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0m PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Mayor of the City of Pleasanton is authorized to <br /> execute on behalf of the City an agreement with the <br /> County of Alameda entitled "Agreement for Fire Protection <br /> Services.!1 <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective imElediately <br /> <br /> <br />
