CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 78-23 <br /> <br />ESTABLISHING A CITY COUNCIL POLICY THAT EVERY VACANCY ON <br />ANY BOARD OR COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON BE OPEN <br />TO THE PUBLIC BY ADVERTISING <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, at its meeting of January 24, 1978, re- <br />ceived a report from the City Manager, dated January 3, 1978, <br />regarding the expiration of terms of members of City commis- <br />sions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />after discussion of the report by Councilmembers, it was <br />deemed to be desirable to adopt a Council policy relating <br />to vacancies on City boards and Commissions; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Establishes a City Council policy that every vacancy on <br /> any board or commission be opened to the public by advertis- <br /> ing; that the present commissioner be considered to fill the <br /> vacancy, if eligible and interested; and interviews conducted <br /> to select a member of the board or commission. <br /> <br />Section 2.
