CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAJ~EDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-19 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TWO ADDITIONAL PUBLIC WORKS <br />INSPECTORS AND THE REPLACEMENT OF A RETIRING INSPECTOR <br />IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND AMENDING THE <br />1978-79 BUDGET ACCORDINGLY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, at their meeting of February 13, 1979, <br />received a report from the Director of Public Works dated <br />February 6, 1979, relating to increased problems and delays <br />in making inspections by the Department of Public Works due <br />to a shortage of staff; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />after reviewing and discussing the report, the Council <br />determined that it would greatly improve the efficiency <br />of the department and its service to the public to add <br />two public works inspectors and replace one retiring <br />inspector; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1o Authorizes the hiring of two additional Public Works <br /> Inspectors and the replacement of the retiring inspector <br /> as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorizes amending the 1978-79 fiscal year budget by <br /> adding $7,000, the cost of the two positions from the time <br /> they can be filled until June 30, 1979. <br /> <br />Section 3.
