CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 79-18 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING REPORT OF CHIEF OF POLICE AND <br />REESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF POLICE ASSISTANT AND <br />AMENDING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET ACCORDINGLY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it was necessary, as a part of the overall staffing <br />reductions implemented with the adoption of the 1978-79 <br />Budget, to eliminate from the Police Department Budget <br />the position of Police Assistant; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the elimination of this position has caused some critical <br />delays in work production and effectiveness in certain <br />areas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council, at their meeting of February 13, 1979, <br />received and considered a report from the Chief of Police <br />recommending that the position of Police Assistant be <br />reestablished; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approves <br /> ary 5, 1979, <br /> Assistant. <br /> <br />the report of the Chief of Police dated Febru- <br />and reestablishes the position of Police <br /> <br />Section 2. Amends the 1978-79 Budget for the Police Department <br /> to add $5,800 to fund the position for the balance of <br /> the 1978-79 fiscal year. <br /> <br />Section 3.
