CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 80-16 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF CLAYTON E. BROWN <br />AS CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND APPOINTING <br />JAMES R. WALKER AS ACTING CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on January 8, 1980, Clayton E. Brown, City Manager of the <br />City of Pleasanton, provided members of the City Council <br />with a letter announcing his resignation of his position <br />as City Manager in order to accept other employment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Clayton E. Brown has served as City Manager of the City <br /> of Pleasanton for the last two and one-half years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council met in an executive session on January <br />8, 1980 to consider the resignation of Clayton E. Brown <br />as City Manager of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1o Accepts the resignation of Clayton E. Brown as City <br /> Manager of the City of Pleasanton effective February 8, <br /> 1980 with regret and extends its best wishes to him for <br /> his future success. <br /> <br />Section 2o Appoints James R. Walker, Assistant City Manager, to <br /> serve as acting City Manager from February 8, 1980 until <br /> Mr. Brown's successor is appointed. <br /> <br />Section 3.
