CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 84-19 A RESOLUTION-APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO AMEND THE SAFETY ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN WITH REGARD TO SMOKE, GLARE, LIGHTING, ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE, AND OTHER NAVIGATION HAZARDS IN FLIGHT ZONES NEAR AVIATION FACILITIES WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 9, 1984, the City Council received a proposed application for a General Plan Amendment to the Safety Element to satisfy state law which requires that city general plans be consistent with adopted Airmort Land Use Commission Plans; and WHEREAS, Council considered a report, together with attachments, from the Director of Planning and Community Development regarding the proposed General Plan amendment; and WHEREAS, based on the Initial Environmental Study indicating no significant adverse effects on the environment, a negative declaration was adopted by Council on January 9, 1984; and WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on January 9, 1984 at which time any member of the public was offered the opportunity to address the City Council on said amendment; and WHEREAS, after the close of the ~ublic hearing the City Council deliberated u~on the proposed amendment, considering the information set forth in the re~ort of the Director of Planning and attachments thereto, as well as the information contained in the initial study leading to the negative declaration for said amendment; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City Council approves the application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the Safety Element of the General Plan to incorporate the attached sub- goal, policy statement and implementation program regarding smoke, glare, lighting, electrical interference, and other navigation hazards in - flight zones near aviation facilities.
