CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 88-01 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE LEGISLATION RESTRICTING <br /> RELEASE OF VIOLENT FELON8 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Jose is attempting to obtain legislation <br /> to reduce or eliminate good-time and work-time credits <br /> for all prisoners convicted of violent crimes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 5, 1988, the City Council of <br /> Pleasanton reviewed a report from Mayor ScEnery to the <br /> San Jose City Council regarding the proposed <br /> legislation; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton fully <br />supports the City of San Jose in its effort to obtain <br />legislation to reduce or eliminate good-time and <br /> work-time credits for all prisoners convicted of violent <br /> crimes. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Clerk is directed to mail copies of this <br /> resolution to the City of San Jose and to Senator <br /> Lockyer and Assemblyman Baker. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JANUARY 5, 1988 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None ~'/~'~~/k~ <br />ATTEST: ./ <br /> KENNET}{ R.'
