<br /> <br />GHAD <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />-I <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />pLEASANTONo <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />June 6, 2006 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS FOR THE GEOLOGIC HAZARD <br />ABATEMENT DISTRICTS (GHAD'S) FOR OAK TREE FARM, <br />MOLLER RANCH, LAUREL CREEK ESTATES (THE PRESERVE, <br />OAK HILL ESTATES, AND KOLB RANCH ESTATES), AND <br />LEMOINE RANCH ESTATES <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of June 6,2006: <br /> <br />1. Convene as the Board of Directors for the Oak Tree Farm, Moller <br />Ranch, Laurel Creek Estates (The Preserve, Oak Hill Estates and <br />Kolb Ranch Estates) and Lemoine Ranch Estates Geologic Hazard <br />Abatement Districts. <br /> <br />2. Adopt a resolution approving the Engineer's Reports for the subject <br />GHADs and approving and declaring the Board's intentions to assess <br />the properties within the GHADs for the costs to maintain and <br />operate the GHADs. <br /> <br />3. Set July 18, 2006, as the date of the public hearings for the Board to <br />hear protests concerning the proposed assessments. <br /> <br />4. Direct the Clerk of the District to mail a notice of the public heari1;1gs <br />to the owners of real property located in the Geologic Hazard <br />Abatement Districts. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />A Geologic Hazard Abatement District (GHAD) is a property assessment <br />district that is used to pay for any landslide repairs and related geologic <br />and storm drainage maintenance and repair work within the District.
