This INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT ("Agreement") is made and entered into this 1st day of July, 2025, by and <br />between the CITY OF PLEASANTON ("City") and the PLEASANTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />("District"). <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, the District operates the Adult & Career Education Department, which includes a paid internship <br />program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has partnered with the District to host interns for in-person work experience; program for <br />in-person internship hours to receive payments for work from the Pleasanton Unified School District as <br />part of a District paid internship program for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is expanding internship opportunities beyond Parks & Recreation to additional <br />departments; to allow the Intern to join City of Pleasanton departments for in-person work experiences. <br /> <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and conditions hereinafter contained, the <br />parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. PERIOD OF AGREEMENT <br />This Agreement is effective July 1, 2025, and will remain in effect through June 30, 2028, while <br /> assigned Interns are enrolled in the District’s Adult & Career Education Program. <br /> <br />2. SCOPE OF PARTICIPATING DEPARTMENTS <br />This Memorandum of Understanding applies to placements within the City of Pleasanton’s Library and <br />Recreation Department, Community and Economic Development Department, Public Works <br />Department, City Manager’s Office, and any other City departments mutually agreed upon by both <br />parties during the term of this Agreement. <br /> <br />3. GENERAL OBLIGATIONS OF THE DISTRICT <br />The District shall: <br /> (a) Designate Laura Martinez email: [email protected], phone number: 925-596-3914 as <br />the primary contact person at the District to respond to City department staff questions about this <br />Agreement.; <br />(b) Confirm the intern’s enrollment and DOJ clearance (as required under Public Resources Code <br />§5164). <br /> (c) Notify the City of required weekly internship hours and provide all necessary documentation/forms. <br /> (d) Provide a general overview of intended internship goals and required instruction, unless otherwise <br />agreed upon. <br />(e) Provide City departments with any required forms they need to complete in order to document the <br />Intern’s in-person hours; <br />(f) Provide each designated department supervisor with a general overview of the activities the District <br />would like the Intern’s in-person hours to include, while acknowledging that City departments are not <br />obligated to provide specific instruction or experiences. and <br />(g) Provide all instruction required by the program unless other arrangements are made that are <br />mutually agreed upon by the District and the participating City department. <br /> <br />4. GENERAL OBLIGATIONS OF THE CITY <br />The City shall: <br /> Each participating City department agrees to provide the following to Interns during in-person internship <br />Hours: <br />(a) Direct supervision, including assignment of hours, work areas, and tasks, and coordination with the <br />District’s job coach for occasional support as needed. <br />(b) Documentation of in-person hours attended by Interns, as well as participation in Employment <br />Docusign Envelope ID: B83D6315-71D7-4CF2-ABE9-9605ABBCFC92
