RESOLUTION NO. 2025-017 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AUTHORIZING THE LIVERMORE PLEASANTON FIRE DEPARTMENT TO JOIN BAY <br /> CITIES JOINT POWERS INSURANCE AUTHORITY <br /> WHEREAS, on November 13. 2024. the Board of Directors for the Livermore Pleasanton <br /> Fire Department (LPFD) Joint Powers Authority met and recommended that LPFD issue a notice <br /> of withdrawal from the California Joint Powers Risk Management Authority (CJPRMA) and <br /> explore alternate coverage options for general liability, auto liability, and employment practices <br /> liability; and <br /> WHEREAS, on April 21, 2025, the Board of Directors for the Livermore Pleasanton Fire <br /> Department's Joint Powers Authority met, considered the various options for replacement <br /> coverage for LPFD (including nine risk pools, commercial insurance, and self-insurance), and <br /> recommended that LPFD join the Bay Cities Joint Powers Insurance Authority (BCJPIA). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. LPFD is authorized to complete the application process to join the Bay <br /> Cities Joint Powers Insurance Authority for the upcoming program year that starts on July 1, 2025. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on May 6, 2025. <br /> I, Jocelyn Kwong, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 61h day of May 2025, <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Eicher, Gaidos, Nibert, Testa.
