THE CITY OF <br />- �,,, WN. <br />PLEASANTON. <br />HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />October 2, 2019 <br />Item 4 <br />TITLE: CONSIDER SUPPORT FOR A MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDMENT <br />ALLOWING YOUTH MEMBERS TO VOTE ON THE CIVIC ARTS, HUMAN <br />SERVICES, LIBRARY, AND PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSIONS <br />SUMMARY <br />At its May 8, 2019 meeting, the Youth Commission made a motion recommending that <br />City Council amend the Municipal Code to allow youth members of the Civic Arts, <br />Human Services, Library, and Parks and Recreation Commissions the ability to vote. <br />The commission also recommended a one-year pilot retaining the existing quorum <br />requirement to allow commissions to evaluate quorum effectiveness before <br />recommending any changes to the Municipal Code quorums. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Consider support for a Municipal Code Amendment allowing youth members to vote on <br />the Civic Arts, Human Services, Library, and Parks and Recreation Commissions. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no financial impact to this item. <br />
