CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTOIl <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-245 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF APPLICATION OF HENRY JA}~S OVERBY <br />FOR A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CO~ZENIENCE AND <br />~ECESSITY TO OPERATE A TAXI SERVICE IN THE <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />Mr. Henry Overby of Livermore applied to the City <br />Council for a Certificate of Public Convenience and <br />Necessity to operate a taxi service in Pleasanton; <br />and <br /> <br />the necessary police investigation and report has been <br />prepared pursuant to Ordinance No. 480 and a positive <br />recommendation has been received by the Pleasanton <br />Police Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />pursuant to Ordinance No. 480, Mr. Overby has provided <br />the appropriate certificates of insurance in the <br />required amounts. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the issuance of a Certificate of Public <br /> Convenience and Necessity to operate a taxi service <br /> in Pleasanton under the name "Yellow Cab." <br /> <br />Section 2: Establishes the following maximum taxi rates: <br /> <br />A. Flag drop <br />B. Mileage rates <br /> <br />C. Waiting time <br /> <br />$ 1.60 <br /> .15 per 1/10 mile or a fraction <br /> thereof <br />$16.00 per hour <br /> <br />Section 3: Requires Mr. Overby to carry a minimum liability <br /> insurance coverage of $100,000 per person and $300,000 <br /> for two or more persons in one accident with the City <br /> of Pleasanton named as an additional insured. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED JULY 28, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Butler, <br />None <br />Councilmember Kephart <br />None <br /> <br />Mohr, <br /> <br />Wood and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br /> <br />
