CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-242 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CIRCULATION <br />ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN TO INDICATE HOPYARD ROAD <br />BETWEEN WEST LAS POSITAS BOULEVARD AND 1-580 AS A <br />SIX-LANE MAJOR THOROUGHFARE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of July 28, 1981, the City Council <br />received a request for an amendment to the Circulation <br />Element of the General Plan to indicate Hopyard Road <br />between West Las Positas Boulevard and 1-580 as a <br />six-lane thoroughfare rather than a four-lane thorough- <br />fare; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission held a public hearing on <br />July 15, 1981 regarding GP-81-4 and has made recommenda- <br />tions for approval of the General Plan change, subject <br />to certain conditions; and <br /> <br />W]IEREAS, <br /> <br />a public hearing was held on July 28, 1981, at which <br />time the City Council reviewed the proposed amendment <br />to the Circulation Element of the General Plan and <br />considered all reports, documents, testimony and <br />recommendations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 28, 1981 a Negative Declaration regarding the <br /> proposed amendment was adopted by the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council desires to make a change to the <br />Circulation Element of the General Plan at this time as <br />one of the three times during the calendar year such <br />changes may be made. <br /> <br />NOW, Tt~REFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the amendment to the Circulation Element of <br /> the General Plan to indicate Hopyard Road between West <br /> Las Positas Boulevard and 1-580 as a six-lane major <br /> thoroughfare rather than a four-lane thoroughfare, <br /> subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />that Hopyard Road shall be a six-lane thoroughfare <br />to include include three through lanes in a southerly <br />direction, three through lanes in a northerly direction, <br />median, bicycle lanes, left/right turn lanes and <br />acceleration/deceleration lanes as required; <br /> <br /> <br />
