CITY COUNCIL OF TIM CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-280 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING LINEAR STRIP PARK <br />ADJACENT TO 1-680 FRO'.~ FOOTHILL KNOLLS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at the City Council meeting of August 25, 1981, Mr. <br />Walker presented a letter from Foothill Knolls, <br />dated July 14, 1981, offering to give to the City <br />of Pleasanton the land and the improvements for that <br />portion of a linear strip park running along Interstate <br />680, adjacent to their property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this land is above and beyond the requirements of <br /> the City in its park land dedication ordinance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this unconditional gift is in recognition of the <br />significant public benefit to be derived from the <br />improvement of this park with a bikeway, landscaping <br />and trails to accommodate members of the community <br />who wish to traverse this area by means other than the <br />automobile; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, acceptance of this gift of land for park purposes is <br /> in the public interest. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The land and improvements for a portion of a linear <br /> strip park running along Interstate 680 adjacent to <br /> the Foothill Knolls property is hereby accepted and <br /> the appropriate City officers are instructed to take <br /> whatever action necessary to implement said acceptance. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON AUGUST 25, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />ames R. <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Butler, Kephar , Mohr, Wood and Mayor <br />Mercer <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> RCER, ~iAYOR <br />a~'l~e~, C'~t/y~Clerk A PROVED AS TO FOP~: <br /> eor e, De u i er P <br />G g p ty C ty C1 k H~vin~e.,~orney <br /> <br /> <br />
