CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-278 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION <br />FOR APPLICATION OF SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION <br />C~ANY FOR DEVELOPmeNT OF 80,000 SQ. FT. CO~vrERCIAL/ <br />OFFICE DEVELOP~-~NT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of August 25, 1981, the City Council <br />received a proposed mitigated negative declaration <br />for the application of Southern Pacific Transportation <br />Company to rezone from C-C (Central Commercial) District <br />to PUD-Commercial District, five separate parcels, four <br />of which are located immediately west of First Street from <br />a point 350 feet north of Neal Street southerly to the <br />realigned Bernal Avenue and a fifth parcel bounded by <br />the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way, Angela <br />Street, Neal Street and the businesses on the east side <br />of Main Street, and for development plan approval for <br />approximately 80,000 sqo ft. of commercial and office <br />buildings on three of the sites; and <br /> <br />~REAS, <br /> <br />the City Council has received and reviewed the Initial <br />Study dated July 8, 1981 and received the recommendations <br />of the staff and Planning Commission to approve the appli- <br />cation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time the <br />public was given the opportunity to comment on the <br />environmental impacts of the proposed application for <br />rezoning and development plan; and <br /> <br />the City Council has reviewed the potential impacts in <br />accordance with the applicable state and local guidelines <br />governing the preparation of mitigated negative declara- <br />tions and environmental impact reports; and <br /> <br />WItEREAS , <br /> <br />in reviewing the Initial Study, the City Council has <br />determined that there may be significant impacts upon the <br />environment but that conditions of approval would render <br />these potential impacts insignificant. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the Mitigated Negative Declaration for the <br /> development plan approval for an 80,000 sq. ft. commercial/ <br /> office development and to rezone from C-C (Central Commercial) <br /> District to PUD-Commercial District, five separate parcels, <br /> four of which are located immediately west of First Street <br /> From a point 350 feet north of Neal Street southerly to <br /> the realigned Bernal Avenue and a fifth parcel bounded by <br /> the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way, Angela Street, <br /> <br /> <br />
