CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-292 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REQUEST OF A CONTRACT <br />AMENDMENT TO ADD A CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM <br />FOR THE FORCE MAINS OF THE PLEASANTON INTERCEPTOR <br />PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the need for a Cathodic Protection System was anticipated <br />in the original design of the interceptor project, but <br />the details could not be finalized until after the force <br />main was constructed and additional in-place testing was <br />conducted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there are sufficient funds still uncommitted under the <br />City's Clean Water Grant to cover the estimated cost <br />($100,000%) of the Cathodic Protection System; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />if the amendment was approved, the grand funds would <br />cover 87-1/2% of the cost leaving 12-1/2% ($12,500+_) <br />for the City. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Authorizes submittal of a letter to the State Water <br /> Resources Control Board requesting a contract amendment <br /> to add a Cathodic Protection System to the two new force <br /> mains and include the cost in remaining funds under the <br /> City's Clean Water Grant. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 8, 1981 BY TIM FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Kephart, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler ~ <br /> <br /> eorge, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> ~ne, City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
