CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAmeDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-316 <br /> <br />REVIEW OF BIDS FOR RIPPING AND DISKING THE SAN <br />FRANCISCO WATER DEPARTMENT PROPERTY AND REJECTION <br />THEREOF AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ACCOMPLISH THE <br />WORK IN THE MOST ECONOMICAL MANNER POSSIBLE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City prepared plans and specifications for ripping <br />and disking the San Francisco Water Department property <br />pursuant to the requirements of the lease agreement <br />with the City of San Francisco; and <br /> <br />WtIREAS, the staff estimate for the work to be done was $15,000; <br /> and <br /> <br />~EREAS, the bids ranged from $28,800 to $55,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff feels these bids are excessive and have contacted <br /> other firms; and <br /> <br />I~ftEREAS, <br /> <br />staff believes the work can be performed more economically <br />by day labor and that materials and supplies can be <br />furnished at a lower price in the open market; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff will contact all initial bidders to give them a <br /> chance to make an offer based on any modified specification. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Council rejects all bids submitted for this project <br /> and authorizes staff to accomplish the work in the most <br /> economical manner. <br /> <br />Section 2: A supplemental budget appropriation of $22,000 is <br /> approved to cover the cost of this work. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 29, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers <br />None <br />Councilmember Butler <br />None <br /> <br />- Kephart, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br /> <br />
