CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-377 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION BANNING MODEL AIRPLANES IN CITY PARKS <br />EXCEPT BY PERMIT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the flying of model aircraft or similar devices in <br />city recreational facilities may be hazardous to the <br />health and safety of facility users or others within <br />flying range; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the flying of model aircraft or similar devices in <br />city recreational facilities may offend other facility <br />users and others in the adjacent areas by creating <br />excess noise; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the flying of model aircraft or similar devices may <br />create conflicts in recreational facilities between <br />users if the use is not scheduled. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The flying of model airplanes or similar devices in <br /> city recreational facilities is banned except by permit <br /> from the Director of the Department of Recreation and <br /> Human Resources. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED OCTOBER 27, 1981 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Kephart, Mohr and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: Councilmember Wood <br /> ABSENT: None ~ <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> EST: ~'~ <br />~j a~ RCER, <br /> ~0J .~~ NE MAYOR <br /> W y Ce~errk ~ <br /> By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> in~, City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
