CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUr~Y, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81-387 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DENYING APPLICATION OF R. G. VANDENBERGHE <br />FOR GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT TO CHANGE THE LAND USE <br />DESIGI~TION OF A 10,500 SQ. FT. LOT LOCATED ON THE <br />SOUTH SIDE OF HAPPY VALLEY ROAD FROM OPEN SPACE TO <br />COM}~RCIALAND OFFICES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />R. G. Vandenberghe applied to the Planning Commission <br />for a general plan amendment to change the land use <br />designation for an approximately 10,500 sq. ft. parcel <br />located on the south side of Happy Valley east of <br />Pleasanton-Sunol Road from "Open Space" to "Commercial <br />and Offices;" and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of October 28, 1981, the Planning <br />Commission considered the application together with <br />the staff report regarding this matter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission denied the application because <br />it felt that Happy Valley Road should be the southern <br />limit of commercial and office designated land; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />within the time specified by the Ordinance Code of the <br />City of Pleasanton, the applicant submitted an appeal <br />to the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on November 10, 1981, the City Council received a <br />report dated November 3, 1981 from the Director of <br />Planning and Community Development together with a <br />copy of the staff report to the Planning Commission <br />regarding this matter; and <br /> <br />the City Council held a public hearing at which time <br />the applicant and any member of the public was offered <br />an opportunity to present evidence regarding this <br />appeal; and <br /> <br />concerns were raised regarding traffic impacts due to <br />development of the site and the citizens in the area <br />wished to protect the rural atmosphere of the Happy <br />Valley area. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Denies the appeal of Ro G. Vandenberghe for a general <br /> plan amendment to change the land use designation of a <br /> 10,500 sq. ft. lot located on the south side of Happy <br /> Valle% Road east of Pleasanton-Sunol Road from "Open <br /> Space' to "Commercial and Offices." <br /> <br /> <br />
