CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUr~Y, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 81-387 RESOLUTION DENYING APPLICATION OF R. G. VANDENBERGHE FOR GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT TO CHANGE THE LAND USE DESIGI~TION OF A 10,500 SQ. FT. LOT LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF HAPPY VALLEY ROAD FROM OPEN SPACE TO COM}~RCIALAND OFFICES WHEREAS, R. G. Vandenberghe applied to the Planning Commission for a general plan amendment to change the land use designation for an approximately 10,500 sq. ft. parcel located on the south side of Happy Valley east of Pleasanton-Sunol Road from "Open Space" to "Commercial and Offices;" and WHEREAS, at its meeting of October 28, 1981, the Planning Commission considered the application together with the staff report regarding this matter; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission denied the application because it felt that Happy Valley Road should be the southern limit of commercial and office designated land; and WHEREAS, within the time specified by the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton, the applicant submitted an appeal to the City Council; and WHEREAS, on November 10, 1981, the City Council received a report dated November 3, 1981 from the Director of Planning and Community Development together with a copy of the staff report to the Planning Commission regarding this matter; and the City Council held a public hearing at which time the applicant and any member of the public was offered an opportunity to present evidence regarding this appeal; and concerns were raised regarding traffic impacts due to development of the site and the citizens in the area wished to protect the rural atmosphere of the Happy Valley area. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Denies the appeal of Ro G. Vandenberghe for a general plan amendment to change the land use designation of a 10,500 sq. ft. lot located on the south side of Happy Valle% Road east of Pleasanton-Sunol Road from "Open Space' to "Commercial and Offices."
